Question: I am already 5 month pregant and as my reentry permit gets over in Dec i need to come to USA to renew my green card. In that case i will have to deliver in USA as my due date is in end of DEc. How can i get coverage in USA? Pls guide me urgently. Answer:We can provide you with a quality expatriate insurance plan if you are already pregnant. The plans that we offer will have a number of benefits attached to the coverage for you to choose from including protection for dental treatment, out-patient, specialist consultations, and emergency evacuation. However, it is important to note that all worldwide insurance plans that we offer will have a waiting period of at least 10 months attached to the maternity benefit. This means that you cannot claim for any maternity related treatment that you may have received prior to completing 10 months on the plan. The maternity plans that we can offer will usually be attached to a newborn coverage benefit that will provide your child with the protection that it needs in the event that the infant is born with any health problems that require medical care. Newborn coverage can be provided in one of two ways. The first is where the child is born into your plan and is guaranteed coverage no matter what the state of their health is when they are born, and the second is a free benefit that will provide coverage until they have reached a predetermined financial or time limit. After the limits have been reached on the free benefit a application must be made to the insurance company in order for the child to receive continuing coverage. It is important to note that a newborn coverage benefit will also have a waiting period attached to the coverage. Typically, the shortest waiting period available for newborn coverage is a minimum of 6 months. This means that until you have been on the international health insurance plan for at least 6 months you are not able to claim for any newborn coverage related treatment. International health insurance plans that we offer will always have their premiums calculated based on the policyholder’s age and area of coverage, and never on an individual’s claims history. This means that no matter how much medical treatment you receive, you will always be paying the same premium as everyone else in your age bracket. In addition to this, the plans that we offer are globally portable, so even if you should relocate away from the USA, your plan will travel with you and continue to provide you with the quality protection that you and your child deserve.
