Index of Questions

Question: Hi, I am a citizen of the United States. I will be going to Taiwan for two years. I am wondering I can the dental insurance and get some dental work done over there. Will it cover the crown and orthodontics? Thank you.

Answer:

We can offer a number of international health insurance policies that provide a dental benefit. Dental plans that we can provide are always linked to an international medical insurance policy, and in many cases we are unable to offer dental options as a plan in themselves. Dental plans can usually be purchased as one of two dental options which are routine dental and special dental.

Routine dental plans will provide you coverage for a number of different treatments and procedures including; examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, minor surgeries, x-rays and other diagnostic tests, emergency treatment, occlusion bars, and prescriptions that may be necessary as a result of routine dental procedures.

Special dental plans will cover you for the afore mentioned treatments and also cover; gold jackets, porcelain crowns, gold inlays, temporary crowns, bridgework, repairs including build up and recementation, periodontitis treatments, gingivitis treatments, root scaling, tooth adjustments, dentures and repairs.

Dental plans will usually have a waiting period attached to the coverage, this is due to the fact that most individuals will have pre-existing dental conditions, even if they have not been diagnosed. In terms of the dental plans that we can provide, it is important for you to decide what level of coverage is right for you and your loved ones. Plans that we can offer are globally portable and guaranteed renewable for life, this means that no matter where you may relocate to in the future, your plan will continue to provide you with the coverage that you deserve.
