Can a 72 year old obtain health insurance?

Index of Questions

Question: I am Maltese and living in Malta, Europe. My father (who is 72 years old) normally lives in Shanghai, China, but he is coming to visit me in Europe for a year. Can I buy some kind of medical insurance for my father? Thank you. S Jin

Answer:

We can provide comprehensive international health insurance plans for people of any age. It is important to remember however, that as a person gets older they will be limited in the choices that they have in terms of insurance companies and plans. If an individual over 70 is apply for an international health insurance plan there are a number of factors that will be taken into consideration including, the applicants date of birth, the type of cover that they have requested, and any pre-existing conditions that the individual may have.

In terms of providing cover for your father in Malta, we can offer plans that will provide comprehensive protection anywhere in the world. These plans will usually give you the option of having additional benefits to the basic in-patient plan such as dental, emergency evacuation, and out-patient coverage.

When applying for an international health insurance plan, in many cases if the applicant is over the age of 70 then they may be required to complete a medical examination and the plans premium may be subjected to an old age surcharge. It is important to remember that not all pre-existing conditions will be covered. To find a plan that would be suitable for your father while he is in Malta, please contact one of our expert advisers today for your free quote

Hi, My mom will be coming from north africa to visit me in the USA and stay for acouple of weeks. Recently she has been having a heavy hand and legs feeling. She has been prescribed a medication that is usualy prescribed for patients with mild parkinson's. I would like to get some second opinion and test(scans) performed on her in the USA. I don't think that she has parkinson's and I would like to confirn this in a center/hospital that I trust. My mom has an inssurance coverage with mutuelle Maroc, which is a partner with SwissLife and AXA. I wonder if she can get an international coverage with your company that will covers specialist evaluation, MRI, and oether scans if necessary. Thank you
