Question: I have my mother living in Brazil (she is Brazilian). She is 93; I want to bring her here for sometime because we have been separate for many years. How can I insure her? Is there any insurance available for that age? She has average health, and is only on medications for different problems age related.
Thank you, Marlete Briggs
Answer: In regards to providing coverage for your mother in the USA we can offer a number of options to meet your needs. However it is important to note that if a person over the age of 70 is applying for international health insurance coverage then they are limited in terms of which insurers that they can work with. When a person over the age of 70 applies for a plan then a number of factors will be taken into consideration including any pre-existing conditions, the length of cover, and the type of cover that they would like. Individuals over the age of 70 will usually need to perform a medical examination at the time of the application and will usually be subjected to an old age surcharge when they are accepted into the plan. In terms of the geographic area of coverage, we can provide plans for you and your mother that will offer comprehensive protection anywhere in the world.
