Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathy is the medical school dedicated to treating illnesses with natural remedies. The philosophy of this school is primarily focused on improving a person's health and ability to fight disease innately. Naturopathic medicine emphasizes holistic treatment. The naturopathic school was started in the United States , but now many people around the world practice the naturopathic method rigorously.
Naturopathy and naturopathic treatments try not to use surgery or drugs in an effort to treat disease. Naturopathic treatments have their roots in the natural world and practitioners tend to use treatments that include, acupuncture, herbalism, aromatherapy, counseling and other alternative methods to heal patients.
The principles of naturopathy are:
- The healing power of nature.
- Identify and treat the cause.
- First do no harm
- Treat the whole person.
- The physician as the teacher.
- Prevention.
Naturopathy may not be regulated in some countries and the term "naturopath" may not be clearly defined. It is important to seek naturopathic treatment from a professional, and try to find a trained practitioner.
Naturopathic techniques are largely based on trial and error. Naturopaths rely on historical documentation that certain remedies work. For example the use of arnica to treat bruises and Echinacea to boost a persons immune response are wide spread. These treatments have been proven by science to work, but naturopaths have been using them for decades because of historical documentation.
Many naturopathic treatments do lack credibility within the scientific community. The use of crystals to heal a person, for example, has no scientific foundation. These treatments have been described as holistic placebos, they work because the patient wants them to work.
Some medical insurance plans will offer coverage for alternative treatments after a waiting period. International Medical insurance can provide comprehensive global cover. If you would like more information, or would like to receive a free quote, please contact us .

She has been prescribed a medication that is usualy prescribed for patients with mild parkinson's. I would like to get some second opinion and test(scans) performed on her in the USA. I don't think that she has parkinson's and I would like to confirn this in a center/hospital that I trust. My mom has an inssurance coverage with mutuelle Maroc, which is a partner with SwissLife and AXA. I wonder if she can get an international coverage with your company that will covers specialist evaluation, MRI, and oether scans if necessary. Thank you | |
